More recently, it was to develop a model of the atmosphere by a single person or a small team of researchers. Now this work only by large teams are often from different countries. A typical example is the work of the meteorological community is the consortium COSMO (Roshydromet joined with this consortium in 2009), as a typical example of collaborative development, improvement and use of multi-scale multi-purpose model is its non-hydrostatic model COSMO.
The report will be described the current state of the operating system COSMO-Ru (forecasts for a variety of areas with grid steps 13.2, 7, 2.2 and 1.1 km), developing and improving COSMO model, the use of meteorological support for the Summer Universiade Kazan 2013 and Sochi Winter Olympics -2014.
The study was carried out in part by a grant from the Russian Science Foundation (project №14-37-00053) at the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia.
