Conferences system

On July 30 - August 3, 2012, the Siberian Institute of Plant Physiology and Biochemistry and Institute of Cytology and Genetics SB RAS organize the 2nd International Conference "Plant Genetics, Genomics, and Biotechnology" (Irkutsk, Russia).

Conference plans to discuss the following issues:

(1) Plant genome organization and evolution;
(2) Plant physiological and ecological genetics;
(3) Genetics and breeding in a changing environment;
(4) Genetic engineering, chromosome and cell biotechnology.

The Conference will present state-of-the-art results in the field of plant genetics, genomics, and biotechnology and discuss the promising directions of collaboration in basic and applied aspects of plant genome research.
Two round table discussions will be organized during the Conference:
(1) Plant genome sequencing in the 21st century;
(2) Biotechnology methods in wheat breeding.

The working languages of the conference will be English and Russian.

Conference location:
The conference will be held in Irkutsk, one of the oldest Siberian cities, that is close to the famous Lake Baikal.
