XV All-Russian Seminar Dynamics of Multiphase Media

Khristianovich Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics of Siberian Branch of Russian Academy of Sciences is planning to hold the XV All-Russian Seminar "Dynamics of Multiphase Media", with the participation of foreign scientists in October 2017 in Novosibirsk. The work of the seminar is organized in the following areas:

1. Problems of constructing physical and mathematical models of the mechanics of reacting/inert heterogeneous media and their application to the processes of motion of: - liquids and gases in porous media, - wave and detonation processes in gases.

2. Problems of explosion and fire safety of technological processes, industrial and civil buildings and structures, suppression of explosive and detonation phenomena in gases and mixture of gas and solid particles. The use of detonation phenomena in technical devices.

3. Physical and chemical and mathematical problems of ignition, combustion of mixtures of gases and solid particles.

4. Computational and analytical methods for solving the problems of mechanics of heterogeneous media, including tasks to increase gas-oil recovery, drying, heat and mass transfer in apparatuses of chemical technologies, etc.

5. Laboratory and full-scale experimental studies of the processes of filtration of liquids and gases in porous media.

It is planned to hold a workshop jointly with the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology on the topic "Optimal Design of Gas-Oil Production Processes".

The problems under consideration are characterized by a close interconnection of fundamental and applied research and development. In this regard, the seminar will pay special attention to the practical application of promising methods for solving the urgent problems of mechanics of heterogeneous media for solving all the problems mentioned above from the point of view of introducing into design and creation of important national economic objects of oil and gas production and their explosion and fire safety. We will also consider the application of the theory of detonation to various technical applications.

The organizing committee of the seminar will conduct a purposeful selection of reports to make the seminar of a targeted nature and to ensure the most favorable conditions for the introduction of research and development results into practice. Works of the seminar will be indexed in the RSCI, work is underway to promote them in Scopus.
