Features of geodata as a historical source

The set of received data about the location of an object together with its geographical characteristics can be referred to as GEODATA. In the modern sense, GEODATA collection has reached a high rate and volume, both in quantity and quality. However, if we investigate the properties of GEODATA applicable to the historical Sciences, we will encounter some features that are imposed by primary sources. Among the features of GEODATA as a historical source, it can be noted that it is well criticized both from the point of view of cross-historical sources and from the point of view of natural Sciences. The format of historical GEODATA is very important, since there is no single rule for its design, structuring, and transformation into file storage, whether it should be a GIS or a geoportal, how much this data should be open, and so on.
