Osteological characteristics of the Volga-Ural's population during III-I thousands BC in the focus of genetic succession, economic, cultural and environmental adaptation problems

ABSTRACT: The article deals with the issues of osteological constitution of the steppe and forest-steppe Volga-Ural Region ancient population. Research problems of studying of the skeleton morphological development aspects are considered. Based on the anthropological material of 3000-1000 BC, the question of the genetic, environmental and ergological factors influence of osteological features variation is considered. Given the morphological diversity of the population of the Bronze and Iron ages, the influence of the ecological environment on the formation of physical features cannot be absolutized. But it is worth recognizing that the direction in the dynamics of variability coincides with significant climatic fluctuations in the Bronze age. Epochal features of the 3000-1000 BC steppe population economy are recorded only archaeologically. On the biological properties of the person they affect indirectly and can be distinguished at a higher interpopulation level.
