We have in mind mathematical methods that lead to observable and easily computed representations. Usually, this is the result of the classical method of separation of variables applied to the Maxwell equations system. Such representations remain important for substantiating the basic properties of geoelectrics methods. As examples, problems with inclined lines in marine electrical prospecting in the time domain are considered. And also linear approximations in two-dimensional problems of electromagnetic logging.
